  • Asked by Margaret
Where is the 925 stamp located? Thank you Answer:
Hello, thank you for getting in touch with us. I have just been having a closer look at the charm and as far as I can tell it does not have any stampings. It's unusual for this supplier as they have their trademark on just about every item. As you are probably aware the charm is under 7.78 grams and by UK law is not required to bare any marking but has to be as described. The charm is sterling silver as 925 parts pure silver to 1000 parts metal. This particular charm is made in the USA by a very large sterling silver charm supplier. I hope this helps a little. Many people are reassured by a "925" stamp mark and if it helps I can stamp the charm prior to dispatch. Looking at the branch the Orangutan is holding, there are some plain sections that I can put the stamp onto. Please note that this is not a hallmark, as hallmarks are restricted punches and laser marks that are only used by the UK assay offices. It does get confusing for customers and we always try to point them to the assay office websites for the legal definitions of hallmarking. https://www.assayofficelondon.co.uk/ I hope the above helps but please let me know if we can help further. Kind regards Simon
