Description

Pi is the sixteenth letter of the Greek alphabet and it has a value of 80 in the Greek numeral system. The letter is pronounced as "p". It came from the Phoenician letter p?, which meant mouth. The Phoenician letter also gave rise to the Latin P and Cyrillic ?. The capital letter pi is used in mathematics and chemistry. The lowercase letter pi has been used as a symbol for mathematical constant since the mid-18th century. This symbol is also called Archimedes' constant or Ludolph's number. You can see the lowercase letter pi is used in microeconomics and macroeconomics too.
